Declutter Your Brain

We are rolling full steam into the holiday season and although it’s a joyous time of year the turkey, tinsel, and ball drop bring with them extra commitments, busyness, and sometimes a smidge of stress. So much to get done, remember, places to go, errands to run, people to see, SO MUCH.

It can get to be too much for your brain, and you can end up losing sight of the real meaning and joy of the season. To help combat this I put together a Declutter Your Brain worksheet. You can download it for free below.

Let’s take a look at what is included on the worksheet.

Brain Dump

There is a spot for you to brain dump to get everything out. Here you can list everything that you need to get done, you’ve been thinking about, putting off, worried about, everything that is cluttering your mind.

Getting all the thoughts out of my mind and onto paper helps me improve my mental health by reducing stress and anxiety symptoms. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

To Do List

Seeing everything written down after the brain dump will help you focus and prioritize what needs to be done. Write the 3 most important tasks on the to do list.

I know what you’re thinking. “Only three?! Yeah right, my to-do list has like 300 things on it.”

But that’s the whole point. You have so much to do, that you don’t know where to start. When we try to do everything, we don’t end up accomplishing much at all. Nothing is saying that you can’t work on the next three things after getting these done but focusing on these top three things will help you focus your time and be more productive overall.

Gratitude

When you’re feeling overwhelmed with too much to do or think about, it’s easy to lose sight of what you are grateful for. There is a spot on the worksheet for you to write or doodle what you are grateful for.

Shopping List

The last spot on the sheet is the shopping list. I don’t know about you, but half the time when I’m brain-dumping there are a bunch of random groceries or other things I’ve realized I’ve forgotten to add to the shopping list- stamps, batteries, syrup, shampoo. So that last space is to write all those things to make sure you get them onto your shopping list.

Destress you mind

I designed the worksheet to have space to doodle and the border is able to be colored. This is as a way for you to destress and relax as you declutter your mind from all the thoughts going on. I find that coloring or doodling helps relax me anytime I do it.

You can use this daily, whenever your brain is feeling particularly cluttered, or use it for a specific project you’re working on. I hope that this will help bring some peace to you so you can enjoy your time and feel more productive. What strategies do you use to declutter your brain?
