Week 2

I wrote a little about the beginning of the week already. The rest of the week went well.

We practiced using dictionaries playing a game called Word on the Street Junior. The game gives you a category, and you need to think of a word. For example, the category could be “Words you would use to describe a sunset.” Your team could choose beautiful. You then spell the word beautiful, and as you do, you move the letter tiles towards your team’s side of the board. Once the letter is off the board, your team has claimed it, and the point is to claim the most letter tiles. The kids love playing this game and loved using the dictionaries.

Our garden still has a lot happening. It also has a ton of weeds! I need to get out there and weed but it just hasn’t happened. Maybe some evening this week. We have a few squash and what I thought was cantaloupe, but kind of looks like watermelon coming along. I’ve never grown cantaloupe before. Does it always look like watermelon while growing?

This weekend my frousin Collen and I took a lovely walk on a trail by us. Yes, frousin. We learned that it the word for a cousin who is a friend. Who knew. The internet did. Or at least Urban dictionary did. Is that a reliable source? Not sure, but we’re using it now.

Also this weekend Animal Lover and I crafted a hanging decoration made out of yarn pom poms we made. I’m not sure how long it will survive the cats, since we know they like to destroy things like blinds, but it lasted the night, so it’s off to a good start. Animal Lover wants to make another for her room now.

I hope everyone has a great week!
